Dr. R Frerichs - MD
“Dr. R” received his medical degree at Vanderbilt Medical School in 1986. He continued at Vanderbilt for two years of pediatric residency during which he met and married his wife, Kip. They moved together to Chapel Hill, NC where Dr. R finished his residency at UNC. Dr. R joined North Raleigh Pediatrics full-time in July 1989. He was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1991, with re-certification in 1998 and 2005. Dr. R and his partner purchased the property at 7205 Stonehenge Drive in 1993, where the practice is now located. He has enjoyed serving as a preceptor for UNC medical students since 1997 and regularly has two students with him. He is currently Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at UNC School of Medicine. He has been active with the North Carolina Pediatric Society, serving as co-chair of the Managed Care Solutions Committee from 1999 to 2005. In 2004, he became Vice-Chairman of Pediatrics at WakeMed, where he was chairman of the Pediatric Quality Improvement Committee. In 2006, he will serve a two-year term as Chairman of Pediatrics at WakeMed. Dr. R and his wife live in North Raleigh with their son, Andrew.
Dr. Christina M. Flannelly - MD, FAAP
Dr. Christina M. Flannelly was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and grew up in Arlington, Virginia. She was an Echol’s Scholar at the University of Virginia and graduated in 1984 with a B.A. in Biology and English Literature. Dr. Flannelly attended Duke University School of Medicine, where she was president of AOA, the medical student honor society, and participated in teaching health classes to local middle school students and in research projects with the department of Neonatology. She completed her pediatric residency training at the University of North Carolina in 1991. Dr. Flannelly has practiced part-time at North Raleigh Pediatrics since July of 1991 with a special interest in newborn care, toddler growth and development, and diabetes. She was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1991, with recertification in 1998 and 2005. She is a member of the North Carolina Pediatric Society and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She lives in North Raleigh with her husband, a licensed psychologist, her son and daughter, and two cats. Dr Flannelly enjoys gardening, sewing and Irish Stepdancing.
Dr. Michele McMillan - MD
Dr. Michele McMillan grew up in Greenville, NC with her parents and younger sister. Her undergraduate studies were at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she majored in Biology (1990). She returned “home” for medical school at East Carolina University from 1990-1994. Her pediatric residency training was at Duke University from 1994-1997. Dr. McMillan joined North Raleigh Pediatrics working full time in 1997. She began working part time after the birth of her first child in December of 1999. Dr. McMillan’s husband John has a PhD in Microbiology and works at BASF in Research Triangle Park. The McMillans have been married since 1996 and have three daughters, Sara, Lauren, and Anna. Dr McMillan enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her three girls.
Dr. Nirali Dubal - MD, MPH, FAAP
Dr. Nirali Dubal is a native of India. She completed her medical degree and relocated to the U.S. in 1995. Dr. Dubal obtained her Masters in Public Health with a focus in maternal and child health from the Univesity of Alabama at Birmingham. Thereafter she served her internship and residency in pediatrics at Flushing Hospital in New York City, an affiliate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Dubal is board certified in pediatrics. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the North Carolina Pediatric Society. Dr. Dubal is on staff at Wake Medical Center and Rex Hospital. She has practiced in the Triangle in a private setting since Jan. 2003. Dr. Dubal joined North Raleigh Pediatrics in January 2006. She lives in Raleigh with her husband and daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, painting and Yoga.
Dr. Chris Wilson - MD
Dr. Chris Wilson grew up in Oxford, North Carolina. He earned undergraduate degrees in chemistry, biology and biochemistry from North Carolina State University. After graduation, he worked with GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals prior to pursuing his long time goal of becoming a physician. Dr. Wilson earned his medical degree at Wake Forest University. He then completed 2 years of pediatric residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, before returning home to North Carolina to complete his third year of pediatric residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Wilson then moved to Raleigh and worked in a rural pediatric practice in Henderson before seizing the opportunity to practice at North Raleigh Pediatrics. When he is not working, Dr. Wilson enjoys NC State athletics, reading, and spending time with his wife, Heather, and son, Noah.
Ann Skinner - RN, Lactation Consultant
Ann Skinner is our practice’s certified lactation consultant. We so value the benefits of breastfeeding, that we have a full time lactation consultant on staff. Ann grew up in Ohio and graduated from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing. She has worked as a nurse in Ohio, Florida and North Carolina in the areas of Maternal and Child Health and Pediatrics and has over 30 years of nursing experience. She is a wonderful resource for both new and experienced mothers in the art of breastfeeding. Ann is a member of the International Lactation Consultant Association and the Triangle Breastfeeding Alliance. She recently was recertified and is in her eleventh year of working as a lactation consultant. She loves working with new patients in their transition to parenthood. Ann is married and has two grown children.
Melody Hall - Practice Manager
Melody Hall was born and grew up in Texas. Melody's education and experience is in early childhood and business management. She moved to Raleigh in August of 1996 with her husband John and four children, Jennifer, Rick, Nick and Valerie. She was subsequently hired to develop a new preschool program at a local Raleigh church. She joined the front office staff at North Raleigh Pediatrics, part-time, in August 1997. Melody later moved to our billing department, and ultimately accepted a full time position as practice manager in July, 2005. Melody lives in her North Raleigh empty nest with her husband and their two dogs.
