848-BABY (848-2229) during regular office hours listed above. The
on-call physician cannot make appointments. Sick children are seen
the day you call. The schedule for well child exams is in the back
of this booklet. Generally, the office calendar allows physicals
to be booked several months in advance. Usually there is a 2-3 week
wait for the well child appointment, except for newborns who are
given priority scheduling.

We regularly offer
early evening tours of our office starting at 6pm in which you
will get the opportunity to meet and talk with one of the physicians
in our practice. We typically have between 3 and 5 couples on the
tours and they are informal and meant to be educational for your
family. Please call 848-2229 and ask to speak to our new patient
coordinator to schedule your tour today! We look forward to meeting
you. |

If you have an
emergency during office hours we will see you in the office if possible.
A phone call in advance, if practical, allows us to prepare for
your child. After hours, dial the office phone number and the after
hours system will respond as soon as possible. Remember that if
you have a truly life threatening emergency (severe breathing problems,
trauma, etc.) at any time, you should call 911. You may also call
poison control directly at 1-800-848-6946 in the event of an ingestion. |

Our practice accepts many insurance plans; however, there are numerous subtypes of each plan. Please be aware of the specific details of your coverage. For example, treatment for warts, sutures, or wound care are considered "surgical" procedures; some insurance plans have a separate deductible for medical and surgical care. You may pay separately for such procedures if so dictated by your particular plan. Some insurance plans provide different coverage for sick versus well care, immunizations, hospitalization, etc. We advise consulting your insurance handbook or other employee coverage resources to determine your specific benefits before scheduling a physical exam or procedure appointment. Our staff will always provide detailed and coded receipts for services; however, payment is determined by the specifics of your benefit plan which are not part of our database.

North
Raleigh Pediatrics is a network provider for many managed
care plans (DOWNLOAD
INSURANCE CARRIERS). We also provide billing information
and statements for private insurance carriers. Please be aware that
patient information sheets and insurance information must be updated
yearly. You may download this FORM
prior to your first appointment of the year, or complete the form
at the office. Insurance companies require this annual authorization
in order to process your claims. Payment is expected at the time
of service. Special arrangements can be made through our office
manager for special financial situations.
Appointments for sick visits are
made on a daily basis. All patients with serious acute illness will
be seen. Appointment availability for a physical exam is generally
within two to three weeks. Children six months and younger are prioritized
for on-time physicals due to immunization requirements. (VIEW
SCHEDULE) For older children, especially teens requiring
sports/camp exams, please plan ahead. Please fill out the patient
portion of all physical forms prior to your child's appointment;
our providers are required to certify that they have reviewed this
information with you. If possible, please complete the immunization
information or attach a copy of your child's record. If you do not
have an immunization card, we can provide one for you. A sports/camp
form can be completed based on any full physical done within the
past 12 months. Some insurance plans allow one physical per calendar
year; others allow one physical per 365 days. If you are unsure
of the date of your child's last physical, please inquire to be
sure they need an updated exam. Please be very familiar
with the specifics of your medical coverage and prescription plan.
Please bring your insurance card to every visit.
Please allow 48 hours for completion
of prescriptions refills, school medication forms, referrals and
physical forms not completed at an appointment. Please help
us by filling out all patient information on any physical form.
